Initial Post- Response to “There Will Come Soft Rains”

This was an incredibly interesting read that I was not expecting when I first began reading. When I started, it appeared to be about future technology and the advancements that have been made with houses. Everything from cleaning robot mice to weather report- the house is so much more tech savy than our current houses. It took a very strange turn when it began speaking about the house being singled out among piles of surrounding dirt. The author’s decision to continue counting the time throughout the entire story helped to keep the story moving and show what a day would look like in the enviorment. Something very important to note is that the author also goes back and forth between positives and negatives of the world. All of the technology is great, but it is also at a cost of the enviornment and the “brightness” of the world.
